Jaanika Lillemaa brings together expertise from both the cultural and education sectors. For more than a decade, she has contributed to Estonia’s international visibility through cultural cooperation, large-scale projects, and creative industry initiatives. Her professional experience includes leading international projects at Music Estonia, managing international tours for the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, coordinating Estonia’s official EU Council Presidency cultural programme in Brussels as well as heading cultural and audiovisual cooperation at the French Institute in Estonia.
Today, Jaanika serves as an Adviser for EU and international cooperation at the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, focusing on building international partnerships in the field of education and supporting the global reach of Estonian education services. With her strong ties to the music industry, she is particularly passionate about fostering dialogue on the future of music education and promoting stronger connections between culture and education.
For the past three years, Jaanika has curated education-related discussions at Tallinn Music Week, focusing on how music education can evolve to meet the needs of future generations. Together with leading experts, she has explored academic and informal development opportunities for music industry professionals within the Nordic-Baltic region, rethought the role of music education in formal education, and addressed future talent engagement from an educational perspective. Jaanika looks forward to bringing these insights to Music Week Poland.
