We are living in an era of profound transformation—technology, generational shifts, and an evolving job market are reshaping how we work and learn, also in the music ecosystem. Lifelong learning is no longer optional; it’s a necessity. But are our educational systems and upskilling opportunities—spanning universities, non-formal learning spaces, online platforms, and mentoring programmes—evolving fast enough to meet this challenge?

This panel is more than just a discussion. It’s a live laboratory for ideas, where global experts and industry thinkers will not only analyze the current state of education, but also prototype bold, actionable solutions for the future of learning in music.

We bring together a dynamic group of voices—high-level educational designers and innovators, trend researchers, and decision-makers shaping the global music industry’s learning landscape—to envision what learning can and should be on the creative market.

And this isn’t just about the next generation. Today, education is everyone’s business. More and more, leaders in the music industry are seeking ways to adapt their teams and themselves to the demands of an ever-evolving market. Education is no longer “just for kids”—it’s a core strategy for growth, innovation, and resilience.

Through a music industry lens, we’ll explore how learning—formal and informal, institutional and independent—can become a driving force for transformation across careers and across life stages.

We’ll dive into:

  • The Current Landscape: What is the real status of education and training today, especially in creative sectors like music?
  • Emerging Trends: From microlearning to hybrid models, what new patterns are shaping learning?
  • The Curriculum of the Future: What skills and competencies will matter most in the next decade? Who defines them—and who delivers them?
  • Reimagining Institutions: How can we create bridges between traditional universities and the ever-evolving world of creative industries?
  • Flexible, Modular Learning: From lifelong upskilling to on-demand knowledge, what does a truly adaptable education model look like?
  • Language Matters: Are our terms—”education”, „training”, „upskilling”—outdated? How can we reframe learning itself?
