Jawhar Basti grew up in Radès, Tunisia, immersed in poetry, music, and performance. Early on, he developed a fascination with Tunisian popular culture—its imagery, expressions, and gestures. At twenty, he moved to Lille, France, to study English, but also to discover new sounds and visions. Jawhar takes us on a journey of renewal, embracing folk minimalism and the delicate balance between poetry and melody.
